Recruiting

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN PLAY LACROSSE IN COLLEGE?

Performance Lacrosse can assist you with the recruiting process, but you must first make the decision that you LOVE the game of lacrosse and that you cannot bear the thought of not playing lacrosse after your high school years. It is that decision, which you must periodically reconfirm throughout the recruiting process, which will take you through the difficult work that it takes to be a student-athlete at the next level. And you must make this decision for yourself, and own it.

THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES.

No one can guarantee that you will play lacrosse at the Division I level, and with the rapid growth of lacrosse, the chances of playing at that level are becoming increasingly more competitive. But there are plenty of opportunities at the Division II and III levels and with college club teams. One must remain appropriately realistic about their level of play and where they fit within the recruiting process.

THIS IS A LENGTHY AND ARDUOUS PROCESS.

The ingredients necessary to be successfully recruited include, among other things: dedication; tenacity; continuous work on skills, speed, agility and game play; coachability; leadership; excellent grades and SAT/ACT scores; a strong work ethic; sacrifice; ability to work through setbacks; superior time management skills; AND PASSION FOR THE GAME.

AND WE CAN HELP YOU.

  • We also provide you with information on the importance of leadership; our take on camps, tournaments and club teams; NCAA recruiting rules, recruiting schedule and eligibility; the Ivy League recruiting process; off-season training and playing more than one sport; and the National Letter of Intent process.
  • We even can assist in arranging college campus tours.

Performance Lacrosse can provide you with support at the level you determine you need to implement and execute your recruiting strategy.

Recruiting Guide

So You Think You Can Play Lacrosse In College?

Excerpts:
"FOCUS ON ACADEMICS: Make your academics work for you.  Always remember that athletics are a means to an end, not an end, and will help you get into that “dream school” so long as you have the good grades to go with the sports.  Being a scholar, including great grades and high SAT/ACT scores, AND a great athlete will provide you with the most options."

"IMPRESS EVERYONE: Make good choices in all aspects of your life. You are defined by how you conduct yourself on and off the field, in the classroom, and in your community. You are always being watched. Be respectful always, on the field and in practice. The impressions you make define you and are long lasting."
